Made by Eurokancom, the Koren chair by designer Djordje Zivanovic takes its form and assembly from early manufacturing techniques. Koren, the Serbian word for “roots,” looks back to a time when simplicity was king but updates it for our 21st century needs. Made of six pieces of beech wood joined together, Koren includes places to “put our things” when we sit down – purses, coats, hats, etc. – something I constantly look for whenever I go to a restaurant. Between my bag and my coat and scarf, sometimes it would be nice if a chair wasn’t just a chair.
